Just cause the first stage concept was launched a long time ago? Because at first the production version was scheduled to be shown in 2016.

And how can you not like how it looks!? It's freaking gorgeous!

Yeah the interior isn't stunnung. But when you are driving, what really matters. The interior design, or the driving dynamics. Which will probably be very, very nice on this car.

In the end it's a mid-engined hybrid sports car. Like the i8. Which everyone loves. Hybrid tech used to make cars faster is pretty popular(P1, 918, LaFerrari, i8). Stop hating on what seams like it will be a great sports car.

They're probably afraid the VTEC won't kick in as strong as it did in the older cars :p

THIS.

I genuinely like it a lot! It looks like that, it has 458 levels performance, and is pretty cheap (in context).

Hell, I'd take this over the i8 (suck it, bimmer fanboys)

Beauty is subjective, and I don't like the way it looks. Also the NSX was always about as pure a driving experience as one could imagine, this one has 4wd, hybridization, and an automatic transmission. These are all handicaps that must be overcome rather than benefits. My feeling is that no matter how good it is, it would be better with RWD, all the hybrid and AWD drivetrain weight stripped, and a proper goddamn manual.

Here is a picture of sad Senna

I love the NSX, I'm surprised at the amount of people hating it, the car looks great!

I've just been a little pre-occupied with a few other big reveals today...

I like it. The problem is they decided to launch it on the same day as the GT.

Which is more exciting?

Ford showing a car that was only rumored with no leaks and it has plans to start racing it this year.

Or, Honda trotting out a car they've been showing in one form or another for the past 5 or 6 years?

Oh, and it won't be racing, that I know of.

I hear what you're saying. And you are right. I'm almost always for bare bones driving experience.

But in some cases techy cars are good. LaFerrari, P1, etc...

I would take this over a 911 for sure. It's not necessarily my favorite type of car, but I think it's going to be really good for what it is..

That is a minor mistake. But are car people really that pitiful to where they can't like more than one car per day? I love the new GT. And the NSX.

Who says you can't like both..? Just cause the GT is newer news, why does that mean the NSX is pointless?

I'd take it over an i8, and I really like the i8 as well. I honestly think this has potential to be a great car. Just wish I had some figures and specs to shove in all the haters' faces. 458 performance...I'm thinking that might be a little overshoot, but 911 turbo, Sports Series, AMG GT, Z06..watch out

The GT is the #1 reveal for sure. But that doesn't diminsh the importance of the NSX or the 4C Spider(which I also really like)

So? How many cars get revealed at Geneva every year? The replacement for the P1 has already been confirmed to be in development...to be launched in 10+yrs. They spent time perfecting it. You know how long Ferrari has been working on the F458T? I saw test mules several years ago. Acura just came straight out with a concept instead of starting with mules and test cars. They spent the same amount of time developing it as most other sports cars. They just did it in a different fashion.

Agreed it will be a very good car, but an NSX in name only. It, historically, was never the masturbatory tech-fest we saw with other Japanese companies in the 90s (namely the 3000GT and GT-R, and to a lesser degree the Supra) but this new model is exactly that. Do I believe the i8 is a great car? Sure! Would I rather have an OG NSX, Exige, or FD RX-7 Bathurst? Definitely.

It's not the same kinda car. The GT is a higher class of car, so of course it will be better. But, forget about the GT being revealed today and the NSX is amazing. The car doesn't change just cause of another car being revealed the same day. The NSX would've been the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, or in 3 months. If the GT would've been revealed tomorrow, nobody would be hating on the NSX. The fact that the GT got launched today changes exactly 0% of what the NSx is or can do.

I do agree that the NSX nameplate might not appropriate for this type of car. They maybe should've done a different nomenclature from the beginning and people would've just felt as a kind of spiritual successor. Like the basic F1 and the techy P1...if that makes sense.

It's too normal looking. It's not ugly or anything, but it debuted after the Ford GT, which is an action movie explosion from every angle. The Acura looks like an Audi R8 turned slightly to beige.

Please forget about the freaking GT for a second!!! The NSX has more design than a Huracan, and even a Gallardo, just to point out a few. It's got several design languages beautifully integrated and morphed into one, on only one canvas. Yes the GT is striking, but so is the Lamborghini Veneno...and nobody is complaining that it isn't as striking as that? Just cause it was launched the same day...give me a break. Stop being so tunnel-visioned. Who gives a crap when it was revealed. It wasn't revealed to take attention from the GT. They are totally different cars for goodness sakes! Try to honestly block the GT from your mind for 5 seconds, and look at the NSX. Now can you honestly tell me you don't want to see one in person. And drive one. Because let's be honest, if given the chance who wouldn't hoon the mess out of it?

And the same(pretty much) goes for the massively beautiful 4C spider that everybody has somehow already forgot about. Oh, and by the way, the new Alfa was revealed before the GT. So with the argument that the NSX is obsolete because it was revealed right after the GT, the GT should be obsolete because it was launched right after the 4C spider? Don't get me wrong I like the GT, I like it a lot, but other cars did get revealed today. Some very impressive cars, that any other day would be endlessly heralded by the entire internet and car people all over the world.

This is the benchmark for both super cars that were shown today. The NSX is not this good looking. If you want to beat Ferrari, it's not all about the numbers. You have to beat Ferrari at everything, including being an emotionally charged sexycar.

I don't know how nobody has said this yet, but its totally the 5th gen Camaro again.

4 years of the same concept … everyone complaining when it comes out …. but ends up selling good.

That last part is to be seen, but the point still stands. Let the market speak.

I didn't even think about that connection.

It was kind of annoying how long it seemed to take, but really, it was developed from nothing in 5yrs. That's no longer than any other sports/super sports car.

I'm my opinion, it will sell well because I think it will have at least 911 turbo performance(quite possibly a lot more) for a good price. And it's something new, something other people don't already have...something people will be very impressed with when they see it at there local C&C for the first few times.

I agree with you, but this is the internet.

For me the NSX just fell to back of mind with all the other stuff going on. Not that it won't be an awesome car that looks great. Ford had 3 enthusiast cars to show in one day. I was busy complaining about the awful Nissan AMA. I tried catching up on the Corvette guy AMA. That on top of a normal busy work day.

Lots of new and exciting cars vs one car I've seen or read about multiple times. That's basically what it boiled down to for me. I'll get more excited for the NSX when it starts showing up in the hands of people. Until then, it's another also ran story. It's like hearing Mazda's gonna make a new rotary or there will be a new Toyota Supra. There's only so much you can say before I lose interest. Give me the real car in the hands of customers and I'll start being more interested.

I'm equally upset that people don't like the NSX. So what if Acura seems to have lost their way- the car is beautiful! I personally believe the interior is nice- it's much better than the one in my car! But if people are just going to hate on it, that's better news for you and I who would gladly pick one up off the used market when prices fall from all of these keyboard deck jockey haters

I have serious issues with the transmission and engine choices of the GT, but since no one has driven it, I'll keep my mouth shut. I can judge the looks though and I quite like it. Its got damn near Zonda levels of posterworthiness.

The eXperiment was in weight savings and reliability rather than a "look what i can do" tech fest. However light the new one may be, it would be better with less techy shit. I have my own personal reservations about stuff like automatic transmissions and turbochargers, but the fact is everything gets better with less weight.

But just imagine, a car company stepping up and making a car using all the weight saving tech we have available today without all the gizmos. Closest we have is the Alfa 4C, but imagine that with a high revving NA 6 and a manual.
